I made this tabaxi name generator as a resource to help DnD players get inspiration for a new tabaxi character and to help quickly come up with tabaxi names for DMs. In DnD 5e, tabaxi names are not provided in any of the main sourcebooks. However, I drew inspiration from named tabaxi character name examples in Volo’s Guide to Monsters, as well as other fitting names that follow tabaxi naming conventions and sound suitably cat-like.
A tabaxi’s first name is determined by their clan and “based on a complex formula that involves astrology, prophecy, clan history, and other esoteric factors.” Additionally, tabaxi names are gender-neutral, and “most use nicknames that are derived from or inspired by their full names. Clan names are usually based on a geographical feature located in or near the clan’s territory” (Volo’s).
